The Volkswagen E-Up! city car is one of the countless new minicars heading to markets globally, and like Toyota’s iQ or Fiat’s 500, the VW E-Up! is also coming to the U.S.

According to Automobile, the electric VW E-Up! should arrive in select U.S. markets by 2013. Although VW has yet to release official information about the car’s launch, the markets would presumably be the same as the initial markets for the Nissan Leaf EV.

In addition, previous reports also suggested that the E-Up! model slated for the U.S. would be would be slightly larger than the model sold overseas. Whether or not that’s the case, the gas- and diesel-powered variants are expected to be priced between $10,000 to $11,000 in Europe and Volkswagen projects 600,000 sales of these minicars annually.
