Minivans have suffered due to the popularity of the crossover utility vehicle. This trend has led to the demise of minivans from Chevrolet, Ford, and others. But Volkswagen seems committed to offering quality vans for a range of applications. In fact, the automaker has just released the all-new Routan minivan. Now, VW will be releasing an updated Transporter van as well.
The VW Transporter van will feature a TDI diesel engine, which one Volkswagen Dealer Wausau says should provide fewer emissions and boost fuel economy. The engine will be mated to a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmissions and power will be delivered through VW’s 4MOTION all-wheel drive system.

VW’s Transporter will also feature a refreshed front and rear fascia according to Green Bay auto dealers. The interior will benefit from a new steering wheel, improved instrumentation, and new tech such as touch screen navigation and a new audio system. Volkswagen Service Wausau points out that other new additions include an electronic stability control system, hill-start assist, and a system that alerts the driver of obstacles in the vehicle’s blind spot.
Look for the 2010 Volkswagen Transporter van to appear at the Frankfurt Auto Show this month where it will make its formal world premier.
